LESSON ELEVEN
The Power of the Blood of GOD, Part 3
Right after Christ’s death, we read in Mark 15:33-39 in the previous lesson that “the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom.” The curtain in the sanctuary blocked the way to the Holy of Holies, or the Holy Place, symbolizing where God’s throne is. Only a specific high priest was allowed to access the Holy of Holies, and only at a very specific appointed time, and in a specific way.
The high priest would be a type of mediator between God and man. Now Jesus is our high priest (same as great priest) and mediator:
Look up Hebrews 10:19-21 in the NRSVue, and then fill in the blanks, below:
“Therefore, my brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the sanctuary by the _______________ of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain (that is, through his flesh), and since we have a great priest over the house of God...” –Hebrews
10:19-21
“Since, then, we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast to our confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who in every respect has been tested as we are, yet without sin.” -Hebrews 4:14-15
Look up 1 Timothy 2:5 in the NRSVue, and then fill in the blank, below:
“For there is one God; there is also _________ mediator between God and humankind, Christ Jesus, himself human” -1 Timothy 2:5
Earlier above, I mentioned that Jesus took on ALL sins of all people, including future sins, but in order for it to work for you, you need to connect His cancellation resonance to your sin resonance. All your sins, past, present, and future, are already paid for, but in order to cancel out your sin signature in the cosmos, you need to align with the spilt blood of Christ.
You blood cries out Sin! Sin! But Jesus’ blood cries out Paid! Paid! It is a free gift:
“But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died through the one man’s trespass, much more surely have the grace of God and the gift in the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, abounded for the many. And the gift is not like the effect of the one man’s sin. For the judgment following one trespass brought condemnation, but the gift following many trespasses brings justification. If, because of the one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one, much more surely will those who receive the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ.”
-Romans 5:15-17
God is all about free will. That’s one of the ways He created us in His
image. Without free will, there can be
no love. Therefore, God won’t force
anyone to go to heaven. Scriptural
Christianity is not some religion. Most religions
involves doing certain things in hope of earning heaven. Not so with Christ. Jesus is the Only Way to
heaven, and He did all the work for us.
Look up John 14:6 in the NRSVue, and then fill in the blanks, below:
“Jesus said to him, “I am the _________ and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except _____________________ me.” -John 14:6
Jesus is the curtain that leads to the Holy of Holies, where God is. It is only though Jesus that we can go to heaven.
We receive His sin-cancelling resonance via accepting the free gift we read about in Romans 5. Here’s more about that gift:
Look up Romans 3:23 in the NRSVue, and then fill in the blanks, below:
“since _________ have __________________ and fall short of the glory of _________” -Romans 3:23
Look up Romans 6:23 in the NRSVue, and then fill in the blanks, below:
“For the wages of _________ is death, but the ____________ gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our ____________.” -Romans 6:23
To receive the free gift, you must become born again, and saved:
“Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.” -John 3:3 2011 NIV
“that whoever believes in him may have eternal life. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.” -John 3:15-16 NRSVue
“because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For one believes with the heart, leading to righteousness, and one confesses with the mouth, leading to salvation. The scripture says, “No one who believes in him will be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; the same Lord is Lord of all and is generous to all who call on him. For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.'” -Romans 10:9-13 NRSVue
"Born again" and "saved" are the same. They mean you willingly, of your own free will, choose to accept the Free Gift. The Free Gift is that Jesus died on the cross, bearing ALL your sins, past, present, and future, FOR YOU, in your place. Three days later, Jesus conquered death, and rose from the dead. Simply pray to God, telling Him that you believe this, and then live with Jesus as the Lord (Lord means master) of your life, for He is the Savior.
Praying "the sinner's prayer," and then continuing in your sin, with no change in your life doesn't save you. What saves you, is when you MEAN it - when you really mean that you believe Jesus died to pay for your sins, and you therefore want to live for Him. Christian literally means "follower of Christ."
