Homosexuality is all over our movies, TV shows, and in the media. This is an issue that we need to KNOW the truth about. I'm writing this article, because I love homosexuals, and the truth from God's Word needs to be brought to the forefront on this important topic. Let's begin by looking at three churches:
What do some Roman Catholics believe about Homosexuality? According to the Catholic Worker paper, in their May, 2001 edition:
"Another issue that complicates discussion of homophobia, is that the victims of this oppression are seen to have 'chosen' their fate. Though some doubts do linger in the minds of many as to the origins of homosexuality, the Catechism of the Catholic Church states that homosexuality is innate, not chosen."
The next month after the above was published, in June of 2001, the Presbyterians' National Assembly voted to remove their denomination's ban on "homosexual clergy and lay officers." They took a vote, and the vote showed that they were in favor of accepting homosexuals into their clergy.
I was researching online the other day, and came across a Mennonite church's website. I noticed they had an article that said that they have decided that there is nothing wrong with homosexuals, and refuse to preach against it any longer.
Are we being enlightened? Do the Roman Catholics, Presbyterians, and that specific Mennonite church have it right? Let us turn to the Word of God, and see what GOD says:
"For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet." -Romans 1:26-27
The King James Bible does not use the word sex (or homoSEXual), or other vulgar (common) terms. Instead, it uses words which children may not understand, but which most adults do. This is why the KJB is very child-friendly.
The above Scripture tells us:
1) Lesbians go against nature, and burn in lust towards other women
2) Gay men leave the natural use of women, and turn in lust to other men
3) The above acts are against nature
Did you catch that homosexuality is a choice? "women did change," and "likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman."
The above is truth from God, and no argument from any man can change that. I once had a three-hour debate with a high-priest, homosexual Wiccan man. We went into his childhood, to his first "experiences" and "feelings," and he came to realize that he interpreted certain natural child curiosities, and a certain experience that happened to him, as his being born gay. After those three hours, he looked at me, and said "I did choose to be gay."
Remember, I said earlier that I love homosexuals, so this isn't any sort of attack being launched at them, but the truth is that they chose their lifestyle and sexual orientation. I have a young, lost friend who I have been trying to share the Lord's gift of Salvation with, and she flip flops from being straight, to bi-sexual, to being a lesbian. She is confused, because of the balderdash being taught in her public school, and through the media. Because of this muddled programming, many children think they are gay, when in fact they are not.
Can homosexuals go to heaven? Is there a such thing as a homosexual Christian? These are serious questions, and the ONLY one who can answer them is God. God gives us His answer in His Written word, so let's see what the Creator has to say about this issue:
"Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God." -1 Corinthians 6:9-10
We have a list of some of the people who will not inherit the Kingdom of God. We also have the words "do not be deceived." In today's culture, this could mean - 'don't be tricked by the media, public school, and what other people teach.' The list in this Scripture of those who will not inherit the Kingdom of God, are:
1) Fornicators (sexual acts outside of marriage, or with someone who you are not married to)
2) Idolaters:
3) Adulterers
4) Effeminate (men dressing/acting like women - one example would be a transvestite)
5) Abusers of themselves with mankind (homosexuals)
6) Thieves
7) Covetous
8) Drunkards (in the Bible, alcoholism is not a disease, it is a CHOICE. An "alcoholic" is a drunkard. A drunkard is also someone who binge drinks on the weekends, or gets drunk, in general. We are called to always be sober, which means getting drunk is a sin.)
9) Revilers (Example - internet trolls)
10) Extortioners
That's quite a list. We are told in God's word that none of the above can get into heaven. Since our topic is homosexuality, we'll narrow in on that. The above tells us that homosexuals ("abusers of themselves with mankind") will not go to heaven. Don't despair, there is good news:
The above was 1 Corinthians 6, verses 9 and 10. Let us now look at the next verse, verse 11:
"And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God." - 1 Corinthians 6:11
Some Christians were homosexuals, but they do not choose that lifestyle any longer. They have been washed of their homosexual past through the blood of Jesus, and are now sanctified (meaning set apart from sin - called to be holy) and are saved because they are justified in Jesus Christ.
Some people are called to never marry. This may be the case with those who choose the life of homosexuality. They should eschew the sin of homosexuality, and remain single and sanctified. If it's God's will for them to marry, then someone of the opposite gender will come along, and win their heart. Trust God.
WHY should the sin of homosexuality be singled out so often, when there are many other sins mentioned in the Bible as well, such as those listed in the above 10 point list? The reason is two-fold:
1) Homosexuality is almost constantly brought up in the media, and is therefore current in the public eye.
2) This reason is the most important - because of the mystery of the family structure...
The Mystery of the Family
"Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church." -Ephesians 5:22-32
The family order is very important. We are told it "is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church."
Did you catch that? The family is a picture of the church's relationship with Christ, and vice versa.
1) The husband symbolizes Christ - "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church"
2) The wife symbolizes the church - "as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands"
3) The physical fruit of the marriage union are children. What would the spiritual fruit be - the fruit of Christ + church? It would be fruits of Christianity - walking in the Spirit, and doing the Great Commission, which is spreading the Gospel to get others saved, which makes them your spiritual children:
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit." - Galatians 5:22-25
"Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord." -1 Timothy 1:2 (Timothy was not Paul's son. Paul led Timothy to Christ, making Timothy Paul's "son in the faith.")
Now, let's do the math:
Note: There are medical exceptions, etc, to the below, but that is not the topic of this article.
Husband + Wife = fruit of the union - children
Christ + Church = fruit/new salvations and fruits of the spirit
In a Lesbian relationship, we have:
Woman + Woman = no natural fruit ("their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature" -Rom. 1:26b)
Church + Church = no Christ, and therefore no spiritual fruits
In a relationship between gay men, we have:
Man + Man = no natural fruit ("And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another" -Rom. 1:27a)
Christ + Christ = no church, and therefore no spiritual fruits of salvation and fruits of the Spirit
By Their Fruits
"Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them." -Matthew 7:20
A gay relationship produces no spiritual fruit (1 Cor. 6:9-10) and no natural physical fruit
A marriage between one man and one woman can produce children - physical fruit. Further, if they are walking with God, they can produce spiritual fruit - Gal. 5.
