How does the Bible say God created? Well, a quick look at Genesis chapter one reveals to us that:
"God said, Let there be light"
"God said, Let there be a firmament"
"God said, Let the..."
God spoke things into existence. Science wonders how things consist, and continue to consist. The Bible says:
"Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist." -Colossians 1:13-17
Wait a minute. Genesis 1 says that God created everything, but the Colossians 1 says that Jesus did it. How can this be? Let's turn to the Scriptures, to find out:
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made." -John 1:1-3
The word "Word" above is capitalized. Whatever this Word is, it is clear that it made all things. What is this capital 'W' "Word?" Read below:
"For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." -1 John 5:7
The Word is Jesus! You'll also see this, if you continue reading John 1. This brings us the Trinity. The trinity is made of up the Father (God), the Word (Jesus), and the Spirit (Holy Ghost). God's Holy Spirit literally indwells all saved, born again Christians, from the moment they are born again as new creatures in Christ:
"Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?" -1 Corinthians 3:16
"In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise" -Ephesians 1:13
"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." -2 Corinthians 5:17
"But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his." -Romans 8:9
Did you notice in Romans 8:9, that it talks about having the Spirit of God in us, and then it interchangeably moves it to the Spirit of Christ? How is this so? This is because the Spirit, Christ, and the Father are all one. They are three in one, and they/He created everything by His spoken word/Word. Let's take a look at the Trinity in creation:
"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light." -Genesis 1:1-3
- In the beginning God (the Father) created the heaven and the earth
- The Spirit (Holy Spirit) of God moved upon the face of the waters
- And God said (Word - Jesus)
The Word of God, Jesus Christ, took on human flesh, and was born of a virgin, in order to fulfill the law, and to be a sacrifice to atone for our sins. He was made under the law, so that He could fulfill and complete the law:
"But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons." -Galatians 4:4-5
We are also triune creatures, for we are created in the image of God. We are ourselves, but we are also our spirit that is within us, and we are also our word. We are our word? Yes:
"O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh." -Matthew 12:34
"A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh." -Luke 6:45
We are what we speak, and what we speak and do, reveals who we are, and our true heart:
"Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them." -Matthew 7:20
God spoke things into existence. So, how can we explain this, scientifically? I'm glad you asked. ;-) Let's get into this, but we are going to keep this very simple.
What is matter made of? It is made of molecules.
What are molecules made of? They are made of atoms.
What are atoms made of? They are made of particles.
What are particles made of? They are made of sub-particles.
What are sub-particles made of? They are made of what you may call little strings.
These little "strings," if you will, vibrate to various different frequencies, or to resonance. The frequency of resonance is what programs the strings, to program the sub-particles, to program the particles, to program the atoms, to program the molecules, to make specific matter what it is specifically supposed to be.
And what resonates these little "strings?" Well, you know now - don't you? It's the creative voice of God. God's voice reverberates even now. The tree is a tree, because that's its resonance.
