Only once in my life do I recall ever getting saved, born again Christians at my door, interested in telling me about Jesus, and that ended up being from the church I was attending. Meanwhile, I've gotten many others at my door over the years, but mostly Jehovah's Witnesses.
I wrote an article here from the last time J.W.s came to my door. They gave me a little book to read, and I read it and posted my findings at the above link.
The J.W.s at my door this time gave me a little pamphlet that says "Where can we find answers to life's big questions?" at the top. I already know the answer to that - it's in the Holy King James Bible. This pamphlet then goes on to advertise a URL where one can go to get answers to certain questions. I checked out the site, and it's very basic, with some false teachings mixed with true, as is the case not only with J.W. teachings, but much of Christianity's today.
On the back of the pamphlet, it says that their website will answer the following questions:
What is the meaning of life?
Is God to blame for our suffering?
What happens when you die?
I don't need a website to tell me these answers, or to tell me what the Bible says. I can read, so I can get those answers from the Holy Scriptures myself, and from reading the Bible over and over again since 1995, I've had the answers to the above questions for many years, now.
Not having to go to a website, I can instead go straight to God's Word for the answers to the above:
Q - What is the meaning of life?
A - Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. -Ecclesiastes 12:13-14
Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. -Revelation 4:11
Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. -1 John 5:1-7
Q - Is God to blame for our suffering?
A - And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. -John 9:1-3
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned -Romans 5:12
For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. -Hebrews 12:6
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. -John 3:36
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness -Romans 1:18
And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world. -1 Corinthians 11:24-32
Q - What happens when you die?
A - And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment -Hebrews 9:27
Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. -2 Corinthians 5:6-8
And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal. -Matthew 25:46
Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth? -Ecclesiastes 3:21
Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it. -Ecclesiastes 12:7
And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. -Mark 9:43-48
For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. -Galatians 6:8
Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting. -1 Timothy 1:16
Dear Reader - we don't need any church, cult, denomination, or anything else to tell us what the Bible says. We can open up a King James Bible, and read it for ourselves. The answers are in there.
