As we saw in the previous article in this series, Satan attempted to counterfeit the virgin birth prophesied in Genesis 3:15 via Nimrod and his wife. Nimrod was part fallen one. He founded Babylon, and through him began the Mystery Babylon religions. Mystery Babylon spread through the whole world. The rituals remained the same, and so did the goddess and child, but their names were changed for each different language. The Greeks, and other cultures, took on the names for these false gods in the other languages, and ended up with a pantheon of gods. All these gods boiled down to two - Ashtoreth and Tammuz/Isis and Horus, and other mother/child cults.
The Israelites were to wipe out the remaining giant races when they were going into the Promised Land. Some giants still remained, as can be seen in the Scriptures about David and Goliath, etc.
Eventually, the devil half breeds were just about completely wiped out. This didn't remove their aweful stain. Their religion stayed strong, and is still here, in all countries, under different names, but the same thing.
This false religion affected the Israelites:
The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger. -Jeremiah 7:18
But since we left off to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, we have wanted all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine. -Jeremiah 44:18
Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saying; Ye and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and fulfilled with your hand, saying, We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her: ye will surely accomplish your vows, and surely perform your vows. Therefore hear ye the word of the LORD, all Judah that dwell in the land of Egypt; Behold, I have sworn by my great name, saith the LORD, that my name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, The Lord GOD liveth. -Jeremiah 44:24-26
The above still goes on today. There are religions that still worship the "queen of heaven" - Ashtoreth. They have just given her a different name.
"Queen of Heaven is a title given to the Blessed Virgin Mary by Christians, mainly of the Roman Catholic Church, and also, to some extent, in the Anglican, Lutheran, and Eastern Orthodox churches." This is quoted from Queen of Heaven on Wikipedia.
Bible believing Christians never refer to Mary as "the queen of heaven." The Bible has the phrase "queen of heaven" in it five times, and each time it is referring to Ashtoreth, the counterfeit virgin of Satan! There is no queen of heaven in the real heaven. Christians are the bride. See Revelation 19:7, and Ephesians 5:32. God is not married. However, Christ is referred to as "The King of Kings and Lord of Lords" - see Revelation 19:6. The bride of Christ is the church of Christ, made up of believers in Him.
Don't make the assumption that each time the Israelites went after the queen of heaven, that they forsook the one, true, God. Sometimes the Israelites would completely forsake the Lord, and turn completely to the false gods. Sometimes, they would remain believing in the Lord, but they wanted the traditions and ritualistic worship that came with heathenism/paganism as well. Solomon is a good example of this. The wisest man in the world, who knew the Lord - he believed in God, and eventually worshipped Ashtoreth (the pagan "queen of heaven"):
For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father. For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites. And Solomon did evil in the sight of the LORD, and went not fully after the LORD, as did David his father. -1 Kings 11:4-6
Notice the word "perfect" above. To have a heart perfect for the Lord, means we follow Him, and only Him. We don't mix in parts of false religions. We worship the Lord, and stay true to Him.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. -Romans 12:2
Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought. -1 Corinthians 2:6
Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. -2 Corinthians 7:1
Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? -Galatians 3:3
Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. -Matthew 5:48
In this way, the Christian can think of the word "perfect" as pure. We must purify our hearts before the Lord. We may think that it's okay to celebrate old, heathen rituals and traditions, but the Bible says otherwise. A particle of worldliness spreads, just as yeast leavens bread:
Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? -1 Corinthians 5:6
As more of the Black Thread is revealed to us, may we purge it from our lives. The Black Thread is the Leaven:
Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us. -1 Corinthians 5:7
Notes
1) While the offspring of the fallen ones are no longer prevalent, their religion is.
2) Mystery Babylon is leaven. A little leaven (Black Thread) spreads, and eventually affects the whole.
3) We must discover, and purge the leaven from our lives.
